Mini-report

Ah yes, the summer of love.

What a summer it was for lovers of models.
What would it be without the beloved WonFes?
Luckily Kaiyodo decided to restart the event.
So VO fans rejoice!

I apologise for not making thumbnails... it will take a while to load.
Special thanks to Arthur of Ningyou Kaikan for providing most of the photos.

Who could have missed the organiser, Kaiyodo's booth.
Here they are showing a resin replicant of the Specineff prototype.
Also check out the replicant weapons for Commander, Attacker and Distruptor!
I wonder when will Distruptor be released...
... and what about Raiden!?

Here is the actual colored prototype Specineff, modelled by Yamaguchi-san.
It was released at the end of 2001...
Have you bought it yet?

Ladies and gentlemen let's hear it for...
The Moon Lightans !
Towerring over 20cm in height, the 1:72 Stein-Vok is highly detailed and accurate.
This year they also made the Grys-unit available...
Expensive as it is, surely Vok fans wouldn't mind to own a gigantic model!

A close-up on the RNA Stein-Vok.
The beam blades and water-slide decals are included with the kit...
How come there wasn't any decals with their Raiden the year before?

And now onto my fav modeller: Hafu Aku sama!
What can I say...
Their products are so accurate right to the last detail of high-end CGs.
And most of their products are fully posable...
The quality of their Oratan kits are comparable to Wave's:
The use the same high quality resin,
They provide all the polycaps and joints and springs and decals you need,
They use the same packaging, even their moulding methods are the same!
The only different thing is that their VRs have better proportions than Wave!
The above GV was sold the year before.

This year they are only selling the full loaded Grys-unit (But not GV),
since it was prosponded last year coz the modeller wasn't satisfied.
Of course the necessary joints are included.

This is his new product: Cypher high-end version!
Check out Wave's Cypher and you'll see this really has better proportions.
And of course it is equally posable and comes with all the joints and decals.
But it has an added bonus: it comes with the Motor Thrasher conversion parts!
Although the kit is not transformable, many fans bought 2 kits because of the high quality...
... despite there was a transformable Cypher kit being sold at the same time!

A good friend of Hafu Aku, Winter's Sunflower also produces high quality garage kits.
Here is Belmate as appeared in One-Man Rescue.
A great kit as it is, it's a shame that it's not posable.
However it does come with decals and was made with high-quality resin like Hafu Aku's.

And this is his new prodiction i-Dorkas (also from OMR)
Although you have to buy the polycaps separately,
The high quality resin, decal and the detailed internal skeleton make up for it.
I mean, even the Launcher Arm (ECL/A) and the Claw Knuckle (ECL/K) are separable!
Even Wave's Dordray kit can't do that!
The photo on the right shows the extended Shovel Arm and with various armour plates off.

It just gets better, and better.
APA & Iwashi Workshop are famous for their *COMPLETE* fleet of Oratan VRs and some original VRs
The proportions of the VRVs might not be as accurate as others',
But the smaller scale (cheaper price) makes up for it.
You need to buy ball-and-socket joints separately to make the kits posable,
Although they do provide fixed resin joints for fixed posture.
The Vok-series shown here are very detailed for their sizes.

Apharmd with full weapon set!
Including a few original weapons...
The double launcher looks particularly similar to Temjin 747H's,
But keep in mind that all these were made before Force!
If you have that issue of Replicant Mechanics, their Bal-Torus certainly reminds you of Bal-va-Tigla!

I still regret a lot about not buying Wave's Angelan (for size) when I had the chance,
But a smaller one will quench the thirst.
This tiny kit has 11 ball-and socket joints (sold separately)!
The wings were made out of paper-cards and the printout is included.
Just cut and style!
Looks more fluffy than Wave's wings perhaps.

Well that's all I've got for now...
Til' next time folks~
